How to add the widget on your home screen

If your phone is running version 4.0 (ICS) or later

  1. Open the Applications drawer
  2. Select the Widgets tab from the top (see image below)

  3. Find the widget, tap and hold for a couple of seconds, then drop it on your home screen

If your phone is running a version older than ICS

  1. Go to the home screen (tap the home button on your phone)
  2. Make sure that the home screen has enough space to hold a 4x2 widget
  3. Tap and hold on an empty space on your home screen until a popup menu appears
  4. Choose Widgets from the list or menu
  5. Locate the widget and select it

When installed, the widget will display the location setup screen. Make sure you have Internet connection and follow the instructions to setup your location.

The widget will display the current time, location and weather information, if you have Internet connection. To setup the clock, weather and location settings tap the minutes on the widget to go to the preferences screen. Make the necessary changes and tap the home or back button to return to the home screen. Any changes you have made will appear on the widget.

Widget hotspots The widget contains several hotspots, ie, points that respond when the user taps them. The following image shows the widget hotspots:

The widget contains several hotspots, ie, points that respond when the user taps them. The following image shows the widget hotspots. Please note that hotspots 9 and 10 apply only to widgets that display the daily or hourly forecast at the bottom:

The actions performed when the hotspots are tapped (clicked) are the following:
  1. 1. Minutes hotspot: Display the widget main preferences screen
  2. 2. Hour hotspot: Launch the default alarm application - This should work for most of the phones including HTC, Samsung, Nexus and Motorolla
  3. 3. Weather icon hotspot: Display the weather forecast screen
  4. 4. Current temperature: Update weather information (request new forecast from the Internet)
  5. 5. Launch default alarm application (user defined)
  6. 6. Tap to launch WiFi settings
  7. 7. Next location hotspot. Tap to display next location weather information on the widget.
  8. 8. Battery information hotspot. Tap to view details about power status and consumption.
  9. 9. Launch daily or hourly forecast (depending on the current forecast display)
  10. 10. Toggle between daily and hourly weather forecast display

Application and widget settings / Customizing the widget and/or application

To access the application or widget settings tap the minutes on the widget (if you are using one) or open the weather forecast page (by tapping the application icon) and tap menu, then select Settings. Settings are devided into different categories in order to make it simpler to find what you are looking for. To display the next alarm or next event information select the Time & date settings. To display or hide any of the other information select Appearance settings and then Advanced settings.

To manage location or weather settings (for example change the temperature degrees from Fahrenheit to Celsius) go to settings, Weather & loction settings.

Information displayed on the widget
The widget will display the current time, date, location, temperature, weather condition, weather condition icon, day high and low temperatures. In addition, it can display any of the following information:

You can display/hide any of the above options from settings / Time & date settings (for next Event and next Alarm) and settings / Appearance settings / Advanced settings for the remaining information.

Note about the next event display

If the Display next event option is checked (under settings, Time & date settings) the next event from your Google calendar (or any calendar linked to any of the existing accounts on your device) will be displayed. In case there are more than one events on a given date, the widget will display an asterisk next to the event information. This is to notify you about this fact. If you want to see all of the events you have to go to your calendar application.

Note about the alarm application!
If the hour hotspot (hotspot #2) does not work on your phone, (i.e., tapping it does not launch your the alarm application) you can select the alarm application (or any other application you want to launch when the hour is clicked) by doing the following:
Note about task killers
If you have a task killer application installed on your device, exlude the widget from its auto-kill list, otherwise the widget will stop working.
